LW Planes Series – Wingspan 1.4m / 55.5in
North American P-51D Mustang
Designed in 100% vase mode (retraction free) for printing mainly with PolyLight 1.0 LW-PLA active foaming filament (some parts PolyAir, PETg and flex), that allow printed planes to be lighter than any other RC plane building technique (1500g weight with wingspan 1.4m). Many scale details such as airframe plating Get ready for flying with this great performing flying legend!
8-10 channel controls: motor, 2elevator, 2x ailerons, 2x flaps, rudder, steering tail LG and retractable main LG.
Included:
Fully 3D printable RC model of the classic plane, designed in 100% vase mode (retraction free) for printing mainly with PolyLight 1.0 LW-PLA active foaming filament (some parts PolyAir, PETg and flex), that allow printed planes to be lighter than any other RC plane building technique (1500g weight with wingspan 1.4m). Parts printed from this LW-PLA are light, easily sanded and glued together. This model requires only about 300g of this material, that means it’s a very cheap build. In case of accident, parts can be easily reprinted with just a filament cost.
We’ve been testing this material for a years before this plane was released… The material is using an active foaming technology to achieve lightweight, low density PLA parts. At around 230°C this material will start foaming, increasing its volume by nearly 3 times.
Almost all parts of this plane should be printed from LW-PLA (some specific parts needs PolyAir PLA, flex or PETg).
Both the wing and fuselage features extensive hitech 3d structural reinforcement, making the model very rigid, yet maintaining lightweight airframe and exact airfoil, even it is made only from plastic. This perfect and exact 3d structure is possible thanks to additive 3dprinting technology only.
Easy to assemble, without need of any extra tool or hardware. Just glue printed parts together. The rest of the assembly is very easy. Simply add brushless motor, ESC, servos and radio system. Don´t worry, a detailed step by step PDF/VIDEO is for download at the top of this site.
